Every year the Northern Ohio Draft Pony Association chooses a young lady to represent our organization during the summer and throughout the year as our Draft Pony Queen. You will see her at the NODPA International Show in July and as well as at the Ohio State Fair in August representing not only the NODPA, but the Ohio Draft Pony Association too. The Northern Ohio Draft Pony Association is proud to present to you the 2010 NODPA Queen, Miss Brianna Bowman.
Miss Brianna Bowman is the daughter of Jay Bowman and granddaughter of Jack and Bea Bowman. She is in her third year at The Ohio State University and is majoring in Middle Childhood Education with an emphasis in Mathematics and Science. She is an active member of the Kappa Phi Kappa, an educational fraternity. Brianna also works in the Office of Student Financial Aid.
In her application letter Brianna states, "I would like to be the NODPA 2010 Queen because it has been something that I have dreamed about my whole life. I can remember being little and seeing the girls dressed up and passing out ribbons at the shows and hoping that when I grew up I would get the chance to be like them. Also it was something that my grandfather would always tell all of his "girls" when we were younger that we would one day get the chance to be queen. With my family finally getting back into showing at the many shows during the summer, I feel I will have no problem making it to most of the shows to represent our club. I fully understand the responsibilities of the NODPA queen and feel that I will be able to handle the responsibilities and make the NODPA proud to call me their queen."
